A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION 002, SERIES 2021 RELATING TO THE COMMITTEE MEETING SCHEDULE OF THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT ("COUNCIL") FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 2021 (AMENDED BY SUBSTITUTION).

WHEREAS, on January 28, 2021, the Council adopted Resolution 002, Series 2021, approving the Committee meeting schedule for the calendar year 2021, reflecting that all meetings would be held pursuant to KRS 61.826 and SB 150 as enacted in the 2020 regular session of the Kentucky General Assembly, with the media and the public attending only virtually; and
WHEREAS, since that time, Council's meetings have been held as a video teleconference pursuant to KRS 61.826 and Senate Bill 150 as enacted in the 2020 regular session of the Kentucky General Assembly, and Council Members have participated virtually, or in person from Council Chambers on the third floor of Historic City Hall, 601 West Jefferson Street; and
WHEREAS, since the adoption of the calendar, the public and the media have been allowed only to attend meetings virtually, with websites and Metro TV being the primary locations from which members could be seen and heard; and
WHEREAS, with the availability of vaccines, City Hall has been reopened to the public and it is now possible to resume in person meetings and attendance at public meetings, and Council amends its calendar to reflect that positive change; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to KRS 67C.103(3) and KRS 67C.135, the Council is required to redistrict the Council districts, if needed, following the official publication of each decennial census by the U.S. Bureau of the Census, therefore, it has created the Metro Council Ad Hoc Committee on Redistricting; and
WHEREAS, the Council amends its 2021 legislative calendar to add the meeting dates for the Metro Council Ad Hoc Committee on Redistricting; and.
