A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO MAKE APPLICATION FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT CORONAVIRUS RESPONSE ("CDBG-CV") PROGRAM FUNDS TO REHABILITATE THE BUILDING LOCATED AT 631 SOUTH 28TH STREET, LOUISVILLE, KY 40211, TO BE USED FOR AN ADULT DAY CENTER FOR DISABLED AGING ADULTS AND WILL BE OWNED AND OPERATED BY ELDERSERVE INC.

WHEREAS, Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government is interested in programs for community and economic development; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for Louisville/Jefferson County Government Metro to obtain funds to promote the potential of Louisville and Jefferson County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION I: The Mayor and appropriate officials and employees of Develop Louisville are authorized to submit to the Kentucky Department for Local Government (DLG) an application for Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus Response (CDBG-CV) Program Funds not to exceed $1,000,000 to assist with the rehabilitation of the building located at 631 South 28th Street, Louisville, KY 40211 for the purposes of providing an adult day center for disabled aging adults to be owned and operated by ElderServe, Inc.
SECTION II: The Mayor and appropriate officials and employees of Develop Louisville are authorized to accept the grant from DLG if it is awarded, and administer the grant to ElderServe, Inc. pursuant to such terms as DLG may determine.
SECTION III: Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government has entered into an agreement with ElderServe, Inc. stating ElderServe, Inc. will accept responsibility for any and all cost overruns that may occur during the rehabilitation of the ElderServe Adult Day Center CDBG-CV project.
