TITLE
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING COUNCIL MEMBER TAMMY HAWKINS AS METRO COUNCIL’S REPRESENTATIVE TO THE WEST END OPPORTUNITY PARTNERSHIP BOARD.

WHEREAS, the 2021 Kentucky General Assembly enacted House Bill 321, codified at KRS 65.500 through KRS 65.506, which created the West End Opportunity Partnership (“WEOP”) for the purpose of enhancing economic development in the west end of Louisville; and
WHEREAS, KRS 65.503 provides that operations of the WEOP will be governed by a board, whose members are detailed in the statute; and
WHEREAS, KRS 65.503(1)(c) provides that a member of Metro Council appointed by that body shall serve on the WEOP board for a term of three years; and
WHEREAS, former Council President David James was appointed by Governor Beshear to the WEOP board on July 1, 2021, which appointment was ratified by Metro Council in Resolution No. 075, Series 2021; and
WHEREAS, David James has resigned from Metro Council effective January 4, 2023.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT (“METRO COUNCIL”) AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: Pursuant to KRS 65.503(1)(c), Council Member Tammy Hawkins be, and hereby is, appointed to serve as the Metro Council representative on the West End Opportunity Partnership Board for the remainder of the unexpired term to which David James was appointed.
SECTION II: This Resolution shall take effect upon its passage.
