A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT FUNDING FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES OFFICE OF MINORITY HEALTH RESOURCE CENTER IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,500 TO CREATE COMMUNITY AWARENESS OF INFANT MORTALITY IN LOUISVILLE METRO AND TO ORGANIZE A BABY BUGGY WALK IN THE PARK TO TAKE PLACE ON SEPTEMBER 13, 2014, TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND WELLNESS.

WHEREAS, the application for the funding has been reviewed and approved by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health Resource Center; and
WHEREAS, the Metro Government wishes to take advantage of this funding opportunity through the Department of Public Health & Wellness,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT (THE COUNCIL) AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The Mayor is hereby authorized to accept funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health Resource Center in the amount of $2,500 to create community awareness of infant mortality in Louisville Metro and to organize a Baby Buggy Walk in the Park to take place on September 13, 2014, to be administered by the Department of Public Health and Wellness.
SECTION II: This Resolution shall become effective upon its passage and approval.
