WHEREAS, the application for the funding has been reviewed and approved by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health Resource Center; and
 
WHEREAS, the Metro Government wishes to take advantage of this funding opportunity through the Department of Public Health & Wellness,
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT (THE COUNCIL) AS FOLLOWS:
 
SECTION I:  The Mayor is hereby authorized to accept funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health Resource Center in the amount of $2,500 to create community awareness of infant mortality in Louisville Metro and to organize a Baby Buggy Walk in the Park to take place on September 13, 2014, to be administered by the Department of Public Health and Wellness.
 
SECTION II:  This Resolution shall become effective upon its passage and approval.
