A RESOLUTION MEMORIALIZING DR. J. BLAINE HUDSON BY DEDICATING THE CORNERS OF 24TH AND WEST MADISON STREETS AND 26TH AND WEST MADISON STREETS TO BE NAMED “DR. J. BLAINE HUDSON WAY” IN HIS HONOR.

Whereas, the Louisville Metro Council honored Dr. J. Blaine Hudson by adopting Resolution No. 052, Series 2013 on March 28, 2013; and
Whereas, in doing so, the Louisville Metro Council acknowledged Dr. Hudson’s contributions to society as a renowned educator, distinguished historian, humanitarian and devoted family man; and
Whereas, Dr. Hudson personified the embodiment of those qualities throughout his career and life including but not limited to social justice, community service, fairness and equality for all people.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/ JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT (THE COUNCIL) AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: Dr. J. Blaine Hudson’s life and service to Louisville Metro, is hereby recognized with the placement of honorary street signs at the corners of 24th and West Madison Streets and 26th and West Madison Streets, in Louisville Kentucky and so designated as “Dr. J. Blaine Hudson Way.”
SECTION II: The Department of Public Works is hereby directed to move forward with fabrication and installation of honorary signs upon the passage of this Resolution and the receipt of funds to cover the expense.
SECTION III: This Resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
