A RESOLUTION RELATING TO IMMUNITY FROM LIABILITY FOR DAMAGING A VEHICLE TO REMOVE AN ANIMAL.

WHEREAS, the Legislative Council of the Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government (“the Council”) believes that a domestic animal, as defined in KRS 446.010, should not be left unattended in a hot vehicle;
WHEREAS, the Council believes that the “Look Before You Lock Act” statute in KRS 411.245 should apply to situations involving pets.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT (“THE COUNCIL”) AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The Council urges the Kentucky State Legislature to extend the “Look Before You Lock Act” statute in KRS 411.245 to apply to situations involving pets left unattended in hot vehicles.
SECTION II: A copy of this Resolution shall be sent to each member of the Kentucky State Legislature.
