A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO MAKE APPLICATION FOR AND, UPON APPROVAL, TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE KENTUCKY OFFICE OF HOMELAND SECURITY (KOHS), TO EXECUTE ANY DOCUMENTS WHICH ARE DEEMED NECESSARY BY KOHS TO FACILITATE AND ADMINISTER THE PROJECT AND TO ACT AS THE AUTHORIZED CORRESPONDENT FOR THIS PROJECT IN THE AMOUNT OF $425,000 TO PURCHASE AN ARMORED EMERGENCY RESPONSE VEHICLE.

WHEREAS, Louisville Metro Government wishes to make an application for United States Department of Homeland Security and/or Commonwealth of Kentucky funds for a project to be administered by the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security through the Louisville Metro Department of Emergency Services,
WHEREAS, it is recognized that an application for and approval of the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security funds impose certain obligations and responsibilities upon the city,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT (THE COUNCIL) AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute and furnish all required documents, including a memorandum of agreement, as may be required by KOHS for the furtherance of the above referenced project and to act as the authorized correspondent for said project.
SECTION II: The Mayor is hereby authorized to accept up to $425,000 from the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security to purchase an armored emergency response vehicle for use by the Louisville Metro Police Department, Louisville Fire Department, Emergency Services, Search and Rescue, etc.
SECTION III: This Resolution shall become effective upon its passage and approval.
