A RESOLUTION CHANGING THE LOUISVILLE METRO COUNCIL MEETING CALENDAR

WHEREAS, pursuant to KRS 67C.103(10), the Legislative Council of the Louisville/ Jefferson County Metro Government ("Council") adopted a set of amended legislative rules ("Council Rules") on March 7, 2019;
WHEREAS, pursuant to KRS 67C.103(8), Council Rule 3.01 was enacted to require the Council to hold at least one regular meeting per month;
WHEREAS, the Council adopted a calendar of regular meetings for 2019 on December 13, 2018 as Resolution 171, Series 2018;
WHEREAS, Council Rule 3.01 also states, in part, that the date and time of the meetings shall not be changed except by resolution for which two-thirds of the Council Members have voted; and
WHEREAS, the Kentucky League of Cities Annual Conference is to be held September 24-27, 2019 and the Council may have several of its Members attending this event which conflicts with the Council's regular September 26, 2019 meeting.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT ("COUNCIL") AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The Council hereby cancels the previously scheduled September 26, 2019 meeting.
SECTION II: Louisville Metro Council President David James and the leadership of the Democratic and Republican Caucuses strongly encourage their membership to attend the Kentucky League of Cities Annual Conference to be held September 24-27, 2019.
SECTION III: This resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
