WHEREAS, the Reverend Allen Evans, Jr. has served as pastor of the St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky since 1981; and
WHEREAS, through many deeds of good service, the Reverend Allen Evans, Jr. has grown his church community by knitting together his ministry with a passion to preach the good news of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, to educate and teach the sound doctrine of the Holy Bible, and to lead an exemplary lifestyle with honesty and integrity for more than 40 years; and
WHEREAS, the Reverend Allen Evans, Jr. has contributed many engaging sermons, and conducted Bible studies throughout the city during his lifetime which will leave a legacy of work that will continue to inspire generations after him; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Allen Evans, Jr. coached Little League football for several years in the city and also held the position of offensive coach at Pleasure Ridge Park High School where he has been employed for more than 20 years; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of his outstanding achievements in his ministry, professional career, and contributions to the community, the community wishes to honor Reverend Allen Evans, Jr.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION I: That the Reverend Allen Evans, Jr.?s service to Louisville Metro be honored with an honorary street sign on the southwest corner of 22nd and West Madison Street in Louisville, Kentucky, designated as "Rev. Allen Evans, Jr. Drive." The Department of Public Works is hereby directed to move forward with fabrication and installation of the honorary street sign upon the passage of this Resolut...
