WHEREAS, Louisville Metro Government wishes to make an application for United States Department of Homeland Security and/or Commonwealth of Kentucky funds in the amount of $23,055.00 for the purchase of body armor for Sheriff personnel to be administered by Kentucky Office of Homeland Security through the Office of the Jefferson County Sheriff; and

WHEREAS, it is recognized that an application for and approval of Kentucky Office of Homeland Security funds impose certain obligations and responsibilities upon Metro.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT (“THE COUNCIL”) AS FOLLOWS:

 

SECTION I:  The Sheriff is hereby authorized to execute and furnish all required documents, including a memorandum of agreement, as may be required by KOHS for the furtherance of the above referenced project and to act as the authorized correspondent for said project for which Metro shall be reimbursed subject to the Project grant terms and conditions.

SECTION II:  The Sheriff is hereby authorized to make application for and, upon approval, enter into an agreement with the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security.

SECTION III:  This Resolution shall become effective upon its passage and approval.
