A RESOLUTION PURSUANT TO THE CAPITAL AND OPERATING BUDGET ORDINANCES APPROVING THE APPROPRIATION TO FUND THE FOLLOWING AMENDMENT TO THE NONCOMPETITIVELY NEGOTIATED PROFESSIONAL SERVICE CONTRACT FOR THE LOUISVILLE ZOO CONCERNING A MENTOR/INTERNSHIP PROGRAM FOR THE ZOO’S BOMA (AFRICAN PETTING ZOO) AND AUSTRALIAN WALKABOUT EXHIBITS TO INTERPRET ANIMAL HISTORY, HABITAT PRESERVATION AND AFRICAN CULTURE FOR THE PUBLIC - (KENTUCKY COMMUNITY AND TECHNICAL COLLEGE SYSTEM/UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY COMMUNITY COLLEGE SYSTEM FOR JEFFERSON COMMUNITY COLLEGE - $100,000.00 FOR A NEW NOT-TO-EXCEED AMOUNT OF $200,000.00, ONLY $100,000.00 OF WHICH SHALL BE SPENT IN FISCAL YEAR 2022-2023).

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/ JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The following appropriation for the listed contract is hereby approved:
LOUISVILLE ZOO
$100,000.00 for a new not-to-exceed amount of $200,000.00, only $100,000 of which shall be spent in Fiscal Year 2022-2023, for an amendment to the noncompetitively negotiated Professional Service Contract with Kentucky Community and Technical College System/University of Kentucky Community College System for Jefferson Community College for a mentor/internship program, for the Louisville Zoological Gardens’ Boma (African Petting Zoo) and Australian Walkabout to interpret animal natural history, habitat preservation and African Culture for the public from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2023.
SECTION II: This Resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
