A RESOLUTION HONORING ANN WAGNER BY DEDICATING THE CORNER OF WEST MARKET STREET AND SOUTH SHAWNEE TERRACE AS "ANN WAGNER WAY" IN HER HONOR.

WHEREAS, Mrs. Ann Wagner has been a prominent figure in the Shawnee Neighborhood for 50 years, providing community engagement and support;
WHEREAS, Mrs. Wagner has been acknowledged for her community engagement, receiving awards and acknowledgements from mayors, governors, President Barrack Obama, the NAACP, and others. Mrs. Wagner has worked with past city leaders such as Alderman Paul Bather; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Wagner has consistently provided community support to her neighborhood and Council recognizes the importance of its citizens engaging in efforts to develop a better place for everyone
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: Mrs. Ann Wagner's service to her community and the citizens of Louisville Metro is hereby recognized with the placement of an honorary street sign on the corner of West Market Street and South Shawnee Terrace so designated as "Ann Wagner Way".
SECTION II: The Department of Public Works is hereby directed to move forward with the fabrication and installation of the honorary street sign upon the passage of this Resolution and the receipt of funds to cover the expense.
SECTION III: This Resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval or otherwise becoming law.
