TITLE
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $6000 FROM NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT FUNDS IN THE FOLLOWING MANNER: $1750 EACH FROM DISTRICTS 17 AND 21, $1500 FROM DISTRICT 15, AND $1000 FROM DISTRICT 18, THROUGH THE OFFICE OF MANAGEMENT AND BUDGET, TO GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF KENTUCKY, INC TO FUND THE “ANOTHER WAY” PROGRAM DESIGNED TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR INDIVIDUALS TO GAIN JOB SKILLS TRAINING AND WORK-BASED LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES RATHER THAN DIRECTLY ENGAGING OTHER PEOPLE FOR MONEY ON SIDEWALKS AND OTHER RIGHTS OF WAY IN LOUISVILLE METRO

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT (THE “COUNCIL”) AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The sum of $6000 is hereby appropriated from Neighborhood Development Funds in the following manner: $1750 each from Districts 17 and 21, $1500 from District 15, and $1000 from District 18, through the Office of Management and Budget, to Goodwill Industries of Kentucky, Inc. to fund the “Another Way” program designed to provide opportunities for individuals to gain job skills training and work-based learning opportunities rather than directly engaging other people for money on sidewalks and other rights of way in Louisville Metro.
SECTION II: The Council has determined the funds requested in this Ordinance will be expended for a public purpose.
SECTION III: This grant is subject to the Council’s Policies and Procedures as adopted and effective at the date of passage of this Ordinance.
SECTION IV: This Ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
