AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 072, SERIES 2020 RELATING TO THE FISCAL YEAR 2020-21 CAPITAL BUDGET, FOR THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT BY APPROPRIATING $526,700 OF GENERAL FUND COMMITTED FUND BALANCE FROM FISCAL YEAR 2019-20 TO PARKS AND RECREATION FOR A NEW CAPITAL PROJECT TITLED GOLF DEFERRED MAINTENANCE; AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 073, SERIES 2020 RELATED TO THE FISCAL YEAR 2020-21 OPERATING BUDGET BY APPROPRIATING $2,246,300 OF GENERAL FUND COMMITTED FUND BALANCE TO ESTABLISH A PENSION MITIGATION FUND TO ADDRESS FUTURE PENSION OBLIGATIONS AND ORDINANCE NO. 072, SERIES 2020 RELATING TO THE FISCAL YEAR 2020-21 CAPITAL BUDGET (AMENDMENT BY SUBSTITUTION).

SECTION II: Part I., Chief of Community Building, L. Parks and Recreation, of Ordinance No. 072, Series 2020, is hereby amended as follows:

SECTION III: The sum of $2,246,300 is hereby committed to establish a pension mitigation fund to address future pension obligations with the intentions of accessing one-third per year for the fiscal year 2022 through the fiscal year 2024 budgets.
SECTION IV: Part III, General Provisions of Ordinance No. 072, Series 2020, is hereby amended as follows:
N. Any funds remaining unappropriated as of June 30, 2021 from the $26 million committed through Section V of Ordinance No. 156, series 2020 including any funding subsequently appropriated to Public Health & Wellness and reimbursed by the federal government, will be used first to increase the pension mitigation fund to a total of $2.7 million.
SECTION V: The Council has determined the funds requested in this ordinance will be expended for a public purpose.
SECTION VI: The Ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
