A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE NAMING OF A NEW PARK AS “WINDSOR PARK.”

WHEREAS, Metro Parks is developing a new splashpad and playground park on land connected to the Louisville Loop, a Metro Parks initiative to connect parks in a complete ring around Louisville Metro;
WHEREAS, parks and recreation are an important part of a thriving community;
WHEREAS, the property for the new park is adjacent to the Windsor Open Space, a parcel dedicated to recreation by deed restrictions from the developers of the Windsor Forest neighborhood, Mr. William and Mrs. Joy Peterson; and
WHEREAS, Metro Council desires to name the new park “Windsor Park,” which realizes Mr. and Mrs. Peterson’s vision of the Windsor Open Space, a park serving the community and the Windsor Forest neighborhood.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/ JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO (“METRO COUNCIL”) AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: Pursuant to Louisville Metro Code of Ordinances § 39.033, the Metro Council hereby approves the naming of the new park located at the intersection of Lamborne Boulevard and Scarborough Avenue as “Windsor Park.”
SECTION II: This Resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval or otherwise becoming law.
