AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $50,000 FROM DISTRICT 1 NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT FUNDS TO LOUISVILLE PARKS AND RECREATION TO FUND THE DISTRICT 1 PARK ACTIVITIES ACCOUNT FOR THE FOLLOWING COMMUNITY EVENTS TO BE HELD BETWEEN SEPTEMBER AND DECEMBER 2026: ALGONQUIN MUSIC FESTIVAL; PARKLAND DAY; PUMPKINS IN THE PARK; TURKEY DAY GIVE-A-WAY; JUICE BOWL PARADE AND COMMUNITY EVENT; LIGHT UP PARK DUVALLE; AND CHRISTMAS OVER DISTRICT 1.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT (“COUNCIL”) AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The sum of $50,000 from District 1 Neighborhood Development Funds to Louisville Parks and Recreation to fund the District 1 Park Activities Account for the following community events to be held between September and December 2026: Algonquin Music Festival; Parkland Day; Pumpkins in the Park; Turkey Day Give-A-Way; Juice Bowl Parade and Community Event; Light Up Park DuValle; and Christmas over District 1.
SECTION II: The Council has determined the funds requested in this Ordinance will be expended for a public purpose.
SECTION III: This grant is subject to the Council’s Policies and Procedures as adopted and effective at the date of passage of this Ordinance.
SECTION IV: This Ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and approval or otherwise becoming law.
