A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT $74,700 FROM THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY (FEMA) THROUGH THE FISCAL YEAR 2025 ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT PROGRAM TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE LOUISVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT.

WHEREAS, $74,700 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) through the Fiscal Year 2025 Assistance to Firefighters Grants Program will be used to purchase eighteen emergency rescue bags called Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) packs and the accompanying air cylinders; and
WHEREAS, the Metro Government wishes to take advantage of this opportunity through the Louisville Fire Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The Mayor is hereby authorized to accept $74,700 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) through the Fiscal Year 2025 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program to be administered by the Louisville Fire Department.
SECTION II: This Resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval or otherwise becoming law.
