A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT THE VICTIMS OF CRIME ACT GRANT FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE IN THE AMOUNT OF $50,000 FOR TRAINING AND OPERATING EXPENSES WITHIN THE VICTIM SERVICES UNIT TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE LOUISVILLE METRO POLICE DEPARTMENT.

WHEREAS, Metro Government was selected by the United Sates Department of Justice to receive the funds for the purpose of training and operating expenses within the Victim Services Unit,
WHEREAS, Metro Government wishes to take advantage of this funding opportunity through the Louisville Metro Police Department,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT (“THE COUNCIL”) AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The Mayor is authorized to accept a $50,000 grant from the United States Department of Justice to be used for training and operating expenses within the Victim Services Unit.
SECTION II: This Resolution shall become effective upon its passage and approval.
