AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE LOUISVILLE METRO LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE REGARDING ROAD WIDTH (CASE NO. 25-LDC-0003)

WHEREAS, the Legislative Council of the Louisville/Jefferson Metro Government ("Council") adopted Resolution No. 137, Series 2024 directing Office of Planning staff to review the Land Development Code ("LDC") and develop recommendations relating to development on substandard roads; and
WHEREAS, Office of Planning staff conducted that review and developed those recommendations; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Committee to the Planning Commission met on May 27, 2026, to discuss and review the proposed changes, and recommended the changes to be considered by the Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on those amendments on July 30, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission considered the record and testimony relative to those amendments and recommended the approval of such amendments, to Council; and
WHEREAS, Council approves and accepts the recommendation of the Planning Commission as set forth in the minutes of the Planning Commission in Case No. 25-LDC-0003.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT (THE "COUNCIL") AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: Chapter 1 of the LDC, Section 1.2.2 - Definitions is hereby amended as follows:

Loop Lane - A loop lane is a continuous (minimum pavement width of 18 feet and 30 feet right of way) with two access points from an adjacent road, separated by a central open space/planting island
