TITLE
A RESOLUTION HONORING THE LIFE OF COLONEL MICHAEL HETTICH.

WHEREAS, Colonel Mike Hettich served our community for thirty-three years in the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office rising up through the ranks from Deputy to second in command; and
WHEREAS, Colonel Mike Hettich had a deep sense of community, offering his assistance as well as that of the Sheriff's Office for many community charities, touching many lives; and
WHEREAS, Colonel Hettich was well known and respected on the local, state and national level for his work with the Fraternal Order of Police; and
WHEREAS, Colonel Hettich was well known on the political scene and fought for legislation to embetter law enforcement throughout our Commonwealth and nation; and
WHEREAS, Colonel Hettich was a staunch supporter of the men and women in law enforcement; and
WHEREAS, Colonel Hettich was a devoted family man to his wife, Tandeta and children, Dakota and Heather; and
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT (THE COUNCIL) AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The Metro Council hereby adopts this Resolution Honoring the Life of Colonel Mike Hettich and urges the citizens of Metro Louisville to take notice.
SECTION II: This Resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
SECTION III: Due to the timing of Colonel Hettich's recent passing, the Council deems the passage of this Resolution an emergency and therefore, pursuant to Rule 7.12, suspends Rule 7.01 and requests its immediate approval.
