TITLE

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 085, SERIES 2018 REGARDING THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF CORNERSTONE 2040.

WHEREAS, on June 14, 2018, the Metro Council approved Ordinance No. 085, Series 2018 adopting Cornerstone 2040 effective January 1, 2019;

WHEREAS, existing Neighborhood Plans, Corridor Plans and Studies, and Area-Wide Studies (collectively “Studies” as listed on Exhibit A attached hereto) adopted under Cornerstone 2020 must be reviewed and updated and must have a hearing before the Planning Commission prior to re-adoption by the Metro Council;

WHEREAS, the Department of Planning and Design Services has not completed its review of the existing Studies and will need additional time to complete its review; and

WHEREAS, Metro Council wants to ensure that the Studies are ready to be re-adopted on or before the effective date of Cornerstone 2040.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT AS FOLLOWS:

 

SECTION I:  Section II of Ordinance No. 085, Series 2018 is hereby amended as follows:

SECTION II: The adoption of the Plan 2040 Comprehensive Plan herein shall repeal and replace the Cornerstone 2020 Comprehensive Plan as of September 1, 2018January 1, 2019July 1, 2019, and shall become applicable on said date.

 

SECTION II:  This Ordinance shall take effect on upon its passage and approval.
