A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT A GRANT OF $50,000 FROM THE KENTUCKY OFFICE OF HOMELAND SECURITY (“KOHS”) TO BE ADMINISTERED BY EMERGENCY SERVICES’ EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES.

WHEREAS, the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security (KOHS) has selected Louisville Metro Government to receive a grant intended to provide ten (10) sets of personal protective equipment (PPE) for Emergency Medical Services staff who might become involved in an “active aggressor” response. KOHS will provide a grant of $50,000 for this purpose; and
WHEREAS, the KOHS and Metro Government will execute an agreement detailing the use of these funds, which must be expended for the agreed-upon equipment purchase; and
WHEREAS, Metro Government wishes to accept this money.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT (“THE COUNCIL”) AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The Mayor is authorized to accept a $50,000 grant from the KOHS to purchase ten (10) sets of personal protective equipment.
SECTION II: This Resolution shall become effective upon its passage and approval.
