TITLE
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 53, SERIES 2013, RELATING TO THE FISCAL YEAR 2012-13 CAPITAL BUDGET FOR THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT BY AMENDING LANGUAGE PERTAINING TO LOUISVILLE ZOO IMPROVEMENTS.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT (THE COUNCIL) AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION I: Section I. of Ordinance No. 53, Series 2013 is hereby amended as follows:
The project may include in order of priority: parking improvements, splash park expansion, technology improvements, a ropes course, Islands Caf? improvements, and train and train track improvements. The net revenues derived from such improvements shall be divided equally between the Zoo and Metro Government Office of Management and Budget until such time as the Zoo has repaid the $1,100,000 to Metro. Any net revenues retained by the Zoo or repaid to OMB shall be escrowed in separate Capital Reserve Accounts dedicated to capital improvements. The Capital Reserve account of the Zoo shall be a dedicated funding source for future Zoo capital needs. The Capital Reserve Account maintained by OMB shall be a dedicated funding source for general capital needs of the city. In this connection, by September 30, 2012, the Metro Council requests Zoo management to provide the Budget Committee of the Metro Council with a comprehensive analysis of the Zoo's per capita gross and net revenues by source (admission, food, drink, gift, tram, train, etc.) compared to at least 20 other US zoos with similar characteristics.

SECTION II: This Ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
