A RESOLUTION APPROVING MAYRIA PORTER, CIA, AS THE INTERIM CHIEF AUDIT EXECUTIVE FOR LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT.

WHEREAS, Section 30.31 of the Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government Code of Ordinances provides that “[t]he Chief Audit Executive shall be appointed by the Mayor and shall be approved by resolution of the Council”; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 30.32 of the Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government Code of Ordinances the Chief Audit Executive shall possess the following qualifications:
(A) Be knowledgeable in governmental auditing, public administration, and government financial and fiscal practices.
(B) Possess adequate professional proficiency for the job, demonstrated by relevant certification such as a CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), or an advanced degree in a relevant field with at least five years experience in the field of government auditing, evaluation, or analysis.
(C) Have a bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor has determined that Mayria Porter, CIA, the Interim Director of the Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government’s Office of Internal Audit does possess these qualifications.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT (“THE COUNCIL”) AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. That the appointment by the Mayor of Mayria Porter as the Interim Chief Audit Executive for Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government pursuant to Section 30.31 of the Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government Code of Ordinances is hereby approved.
SECTION II. This Resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
