A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT AND RECEIVE A STIPEND FROM THE METROPOLITAN SEWER DISTRICT IN THE AMOUNT OF $185,030 TO SUPPORT THE GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE WEST MARKET STREET PHASE II PROJECT.

WHEREAS, Metropolitan Sewer District has developed a green infrastructure best management practices incentive program which is designed to promote and encourage public and private use of green infrastructure for the purpose of minimizing the inflow of storm water runoff into the Combined Sewer System; and
WHEREAS, Metro Government wishes to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement with Metropolitan Sewer District to participate in the green infrastructure best management practices incentive program by developing green infrastructure along West Market Street between 24th and 35th Streets; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Memorandum of Agreement, Metropolitan Sewer District will pay a stipend to Metro Government in the amount of $185,030 to enable recovery of Metro Government's green infrastructure capital construction costs;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT (THE COUNCIL) AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION I: The Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into the Memorandum of Agreement with Metropolitan Sewer District attached hereto as Exhibit A related to the installation of green infrastructure best management practices along West Market Street between 24th and 35th Streets. The Mayor is further authorized to receive a stipend in the amount of $185,030 from the Metropolitan Sewer District pursuant to the Memorandum of Agreement.
SECTION II: This Resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
