A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT A NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES (NLC) PLANNING GRANT OF $25,000 TO BE USED BY THE LOUISVILLE METRO PARKS DEPARTMENT FOR THE CITIES CONNECTING CHILDREN TO NATURE PROGRAM.

WHEREAS, the Metro Government wishes to take advantage of this funding opportunity through Louisville Metro Parks Department.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT (THE COUNCIL) AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The Mayor is hereby authorized to accept $25,000 from the National League of Cities (NLC). Funds will be used to plan for connecting children to nature locally and in association with a select group of other municipalities. Submitting a plan will qualify Metro Louisville for consideration of an additional award for implementation.
SECTION II: This Resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
