A RESOLUTION INITIATING A REVIEW WITH A PUBLIC HEARING OF THE DECISION OF THE LANDMARKS COMMISSION DESIGNATING THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 609 BLANKENBAKER LANE IN LOUISVILLE METRO AS A LOCAL LANDMARK (AS AMENDED).

WHEREAS, the Landmarks Commission held public hearings on April 20, 2017 and July 20, 2017 on a petition to designate the property at 609 Blankenbaker Lane in Louisville Metro as a local landmark, and the Commission on July 20, 2017 by a vote of 7 For, 1 Opposed, and 1 Abstaining approved that designation with an amendment to the Draft Designation Report; and
WHEREAS, the Legislative Council of the Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government ("Council") has the power and authority under the provisions of the Louisville Metro Code of Ordinances Section 32.260(G), the Landmarks Ordinance, to review and uphold, modify or overturn that designation; and
WHEREAS, the Council finds such a review with a public hearing is warranted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT ("COUNCIL") AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION I: The Council hereby initiates a review of the July 20, 2017 decision of the Landmarks Commission designating the property at 609 Blankenbaker Lane in Louisville Metro as a local landmark., with the review to have a public hearing held by the Planning/Zoning, Land Design & Development Committee which will set the public hearing date at its regular meeting on September 19, 2017. The Planning/Zoning, Land Design & Development Committee will determine the most appropriate method of review and report back to the Council at the next regularly scheduled Council meeting.
SECTION II: This Resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
