A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 002, SERIES 2017, RELATING TO THE COUNCIL AND COMMITTEE MEETING SCHEDULE OF THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/ JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 2017 TO CANCEL AND RESCHEDULE COMMITTEE MEETINGS IN NOVEMBER TO ACCOMMODATE THE COUNCIL COURT SCHEDULE.

WHEREAS, Metro Council adopted Resolution No. 002, Series 2017, approving the legislative calendar for the calendar year 2017;
WHEREAS, the Council Court convened on September 14, 2014 and scheduled a removal hearing to begin on November 1, 2017 and continue on November 2, 3, 6, 7, and 8;
WHEREAS, the removal hearing conflicts with various Metro Council Committee meetings as well as a regular Council meeting; and
WHEREAS, Metro Council amends its 2017 legislative calendar to cancel and reschedule various council and committee meetings (see attached as Exhibit A).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT (“METRO COUNCIL”) AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: Metro Council hereby amends Resolution No. 002, Series 2017, to cancel the following meetings:
• Community Affairs, Housing, Health and Education Committee meetings at 1:30 p.m. on November 1, 2017 and November 29, 2017;
• Public Safety Committee meetings at 3:30 p.m. on November 1, 2017 and November 29, 2017;
• Contracts and Appointments Committee meetings at 3:00 p.m. on November 2, 2017 and November 30, 2017;
• Planning/Zoning, Land Design and Development Committee meeting at 1:30 p.m. on November 28, 2017;
• Public Works, Parks, Sustainability and Transportation Committee meeting at 3:00 p.m. on November 28, 2017;
• Labor and Economic Development Committee meeting at 4:00 p.m. on November 28, 2017;
• Government Accountability, Ethics and Intergovernmental Affairs Committee meeting at 5:00 p.m. on November 28, 2017;
• Appropriations Committee meeting at 4:30 p.m. on November 29, 2017;
• Committee of the Whole meeting at 5:15 p.m. on December 7, 2017;
• Regular Council meeting at 6:00 p.m. on December 7, 2017.
SECTION II: Metro Council hereby amends Resolution No. 002, Series 2017, to reschedule the following meetings:
• Appropriations Committee meeting that was originally scheduled for November 1, 2017 at 4:30 p.m. will now be held on October 30, 2017 at 4:30 p.m.;
• Budget Committee meeting that was originally scheduled for November 2, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. will now be held on October 30, 2017, at 5:30 p.m.;
• Committee on Committees meeting that was originally scheduled for November 7, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. will now be held on November 28, 2017 at 4:00 p.m.;
• Committee of the Whole that was originally scheduled for November 16, 2017 at 5:15 p.m. will now be held on November 30, 2017, at 5:15 p.m.
• Budget Committee meeting that was originally scheduled for November 30, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. will now be held on November 16, 2017, at 5:00 p.m.;
• Regular Council meeting that was originally scheduled for November 16, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. will now be held on November 30, 2017 at 6:00 p.m.;
• Committee on Committees meeting that was originally scheduled for on December 5, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. will now be held on December 12, 2017 at 4:00 p.m.;
• Planning/Zoning, Land Design and Development Committee meeting that was originally scheduled for on December 12, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. will now be held on December 5, 2017 at 1:30 p.m.;
• Public Works, Parks, Sustainability and Transportation Committee meeting that was originally scheduled for December 12, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. will now be held on December 5, 2017 at 3:00 p.m.;
• Labor and Economic Development Committee meeting that was originally scheduled for December 12, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. will now be held on December 5, 2017 at 4:00 p.m.;
• Government Accountability, Ethics and Intergovernmental Affairs Committee meeting that was originally scheduled for December 12, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. will now be held on December 5, 2017 at 5:00 p.m.;
• Community Affairs, Housing, Health and Education Committee meeting that was originally scheduled for December 13, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. will now be held on December 6, 2017 at 1:30 p.m.;
• Public Safety Committee meeting that was originally scheduled for December 13, 2017 at 3:30 p.m. will now be held on December 6, 2017 at 3:30 p.m.;
• Appropriations Committee meeting that was originally scheduled for December 13, 2017 at 4:30 p.m. will now be held on December 6, 2017 at 4:30 p.m.;
• Contracts and Appointments Committee meeting that was originally scheduled for December 14, 2017 at 3:00 pm. will now be held on December 7, 2017 at 3:00 p.m.
SECTION III: Metro Council hereby amends Resolution No. 002, Series 2017, to add a Budget Committee meeting to be held on December 7, 2017 at 5:00 p.m.
SECTION IV: This Resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
