TITLE
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $18,500 $21,750 FROM NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT FUNDS IN THE FOLLOWING MANNER: $1,500 EACH FROM DISTRICTS 25, 5, 14, 21, 24, AND 26; $1,000 EACH FROM DISTRICTS 6, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 22, AND 23; $500 EACH FROM DISTRICTS 1 AND 16; AND $250 EACH FROM DISTRICT 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, AND 9, AND 20; THROUGH THE OFFICE OF MANAGEMENT AND BUDGET, TO RIVER CITY FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE LODGE NO. 614, INC. FOR SPONSORSHIP OF A FUNDRAISER HONORING OFFICER NICK RODMAN. (AS AMENDED).

WHEREAS, upon graduating from the Louisville Metro Police Department Academy in June 2013, Officer Nick Rodman joined the Louisville Metro Police Department (“LMPD”) and was assigned to the 1st Division;
WHEREAS, Officer Rodman admirably served and protected the Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government (“Louisville Metro”) community from the day he joined LMPD;
WHEREAS, Officer Rodman selflessly gave his life while protecting the citizens of Louisville Metro; and
WHEREAS, the Legislative Council of the Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government (the “Council”) would like to honor Officer Rodman’s bravery and selflessness by sponsoring a fundraiser.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The sum of $18,500 $21,750 is hereby appropriated from Neighborhood Development Funds in the following manner: $1,500 each from District 25, 5, 14, 21, 24, and 26; $1,000 each from Districts 6, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 22, and 23; $500 each from Districts 1 and 16; and $250 each from Districts 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, and 9, and 20; through the Office of Management and Budget, to River City Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 614, Inc. for sponsorship of a fundraiser honoring Officer Nick Rodman.
SECTION II: The Council has determined the funds requested in this Ordinance will be expended for a public purpose.
SECTION III: This grant is subject to the Council’s Policies and Procedures as adopted and effective at the date of passage of this Ordinance.
SECTION IV: This Ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
