title

A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE PLANNING COMMISSION TO REVIEW THE LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE REGULATIONS WITH REGARD TO THE PRESERVATION OF TREES AND TO INCREASE THE PERIMETER TREE PRESERVATION REQUIREMENTS.

body

WHEREAS, the application of the Land Development Code as currently written does not adequately buffer adjacent development; and

WHEREAS, greater perimeter landscape buffers will protect existing development and make new development more compatible.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION I:                     The Planning Commission shall undertake a review of the current Land Development Code and adopt amendments thereto to increase the requirements to preserve tree canopy, specifically any existing perimeter tree masses to a depth of 30 feet where proposed commercial and residential development are adjacent to existing residential development.

SECTION II:                      This Resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
