WHEREAS, on January 30, 1899, Blankenbaker Road was dedicated to Jefferson County as a 30-foot wide public right-of-way known as road number 255 (see Attachment A), as contained in Minute Order Book 58, pages 242-43 (see Attachment B, transcribed as Attachment C), on record in the Office of the Jefferson County Clerk;
WHEREAS, on October 28, 2003, the Louisville Metro Government, via Ordinance No. 198, Series 2003, created the Louisville Metro Through Road System, an amalgamation of the designated through roads of the former City of Louisville and Jefferson County;
WHEREAS, Blankenbaker Road, a former Jefferson County through road, was designated part of the Louisville Metro Through Road System as CR-1019H and currently runs 1.385 miles from Blankenbaker Parkway (KY 913) to Decimal Drive (CS-1145H) (see Attachment D);
WHEREAS, with the extension of Blanknebaker Parkway, Blankenbaker Road no longer functions as a Louisville Metro Through Road and only provides direct connections to abutting residential and commercial developments within the City of Jeffersontown and direct access to various City of Jeffersontown roads (see Attachment E);

WHEREAS, after a recent annexation, Blankenbaker Road now lies entirely within the incorporated limits of the City of Jeffersontown;
WHEREAS, the City of Jeffersontown has asked Louisville Metro Government to dedicate Blankenbaker Road to the City of Jeffersontown so that the City of Jeffersontown may assume control and maintenance of the public right of-way and relieve Louisville Metro Government thereof; and
