AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 175, SERIES 2017, RELATING TO AN APPROPRIATION TO RIVER CITY FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE LODGE NO. 614, INC. FOR SPONSORSHIP OF A FUNDRAISER HONORING OFFICER NICK RODMAN, BY AMENDING THE GRANTEE FROM RIVER CITY FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE LODGE NO. 614, INC. TO LOUISVILLE METRO POLICE FOUNDATION, INC.

WHEREAS, the Legislative Council of the Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government (the "Council") passed Ordinance No. 175, Series 2017 on September 27, 2017, granting funds to River City Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 614, Inc. for sponsorship of a fundraiser honoring Officer Nick Rodman;
WHEREAS, River City Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 614, Inc. is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a fraternal beneficiary society under Section 501(c)(8) of the Internal Revenue Code; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 3 of the Council's Policies and Procedures, Neighborhood Development Funds can only go to certain "eligible non-profits defined by the Internal Revenue Code," which does not include organizations recognized under IRC Section 501(c)(8).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT (THE COUNCIL) AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: SECTION I of Ordinance No. 175, Series 2017 is hereby amended as follows:
SECTION I: The sum of $18,500 $21,750 is hereby appropriated from Neighborhood Development Funds in the following manner: $1,500 each from District 25, 5, 14, 21, 24, and 26; $1,000 each from Districts 6, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 22, and 23; $500 each from Districts 1 and 16; and $250 each from Districts 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, and 9, and 20; through the Office of Management and Budget, to River City Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 614, Inc. Louisville Metro Police Foundation, Inc. for sponsorship of a fundraiser honoring Officer Nick Rodman.
