WHEREAS, Coach Bill Miller provided exceptional leadership to the community of Pleasure Ridge Park High School;
WHEREAS, Coach Miller was born at the old apple orchard "Miller's Curve" on Cane Run Road to George and Virginia Miller;
WHEREAS, Coach Miller attended PRP High School graduating in 1967 and then the University of Alabama playing football for Bear Bryant and baseball;
WHEREAS, Coach Miller returned to PRP High School after college as a teacher and coached the school's freshman and junior-varsity baseball teams. He became head coach in 1980;
WHEREAS, Coach Miller led the PRP Panthers to six state championships in 1994, 1995, 1996, 2008, 2013 and 2017; and posted a state-record 1,144 victories during his 39 year career as the winningest coach in Kentucky and the sixth in the nation in all-time victories;
WHEREAS, Coach Miller was inducted into the Dawahares/Kentucky High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 2017 shortly before his passing;
WHEREAS, Coach Miller was a friend, colleague and beloved teacher serving as a father figure to hundreds of players, coaches and members of the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION I: Coach Miller's service to Louisville Metro is hereby recognized with the placement of honorary street signs at the northwest corner of Greenwood Road & Waller Lane, at the northwest corner of Greenwood Road & Feyhurst Drive, and at the entrance to PRP High School at 5901 Greenwood Road.
