WHEREAS, the Metro Government let a Request for Proposals for General Construction services for prequalification of contractors with work to be awarded based on competition for each job as described in the narrative attached to this Resolution and which narrative is more particularly described in the quotation process set forth in the contract also attached hereto; and

WHEREAS, the Metro Government wishes to have multiple prequalified contractors compete for each job; and

WHEREAS, the total number of intended contractors is four and they shall compete for a total not-to-exceed available pool of $600,000 worth of work; and

WHEREAS, since hypothetically one contractor could win, by competition, all of the work to be performed, the attached contract’s not-to-exceed amount should be written to be $600,000; and

WHEREAS, none of the contracts contains an award of work; any such award, if any, shall occur based on award of work to the lowest and best evaluated quotation for each job; and

WHEREAS, the Contractor described in this Resolution has been selected as one of the prequalified contractors; and

WHEREAS, KRS Chapter 45A and KRS 67C.105(5)(j) require Metro Council approval of each such contract.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION I:                     The following appropriation for the listed contract is hereby approved:
