A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT A SETTLEMENT OF $100,000 FROM GE APPLIANCES FOR RECREATIONAL IMPROVEMENTS AT PETERSBURG PARK TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE METRO PARKS DEPARTMENT.

WHEREAS, the Metro Government wishes to take advantage of this funding opportunity through Louisville Metro Parks Department,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT (THE COUNCIL) AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The Mayor is hereby authorized to accept the settlement of $100,000 resulting from a cy pres award as a result of damages from the 2015 GE Appliance Park fire for the installation of a regulation size soccer field at Petersburg Park in the Newburg neighborhood.
SECTION II: This Resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
