TITLE
A RESOLUTION HONORING DR. MICHAEL PRIESTER BY DEDICATING THE CORNER OF 28TH AND BROADWAY AS "DR. MICHAEL PRIESTER WAY" IN HIS HONOR.

WHEREAS, Dr. Priester was called into the ministry at the age of 19 years old, and licensed on October 11, 1981; ordained January 16, 1983, and; started his pastoral ministry January 8, 1984, at the age of 21 years old;
WHEREAS, Dr. Priester serves as Senior Pastor of Promise Land Baptist Church, Inc. (PLBC), Louisville, KY since February 21, 1994;
WHEREAS, Dr. Priester has established several ministries, including the Annual 100 Bicycle Giveaway (which is most dear to his heart);
WHEREAS, Founder, President and, CEO, Dr. Priester established the Community Economic Empowerment Corporation (CEEC), an Operation Rescue Resource Center, which empowers individuals in social, domestic, educational, management, job readiness and, technology training skills;
WHEREAS, Dr. Priester was responsible for bringing the 2013 Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship ("FGBCF") International Conference 20th Anniversary to the city of Louisville, during which he, along with the FGBCF Mission Ministry fed 500 impoverished families for seven days; and
WHEREAS, the Council is grateful for Dr. Priester's service and dedication to our community and thanks him for his service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: Dr. Michael Priester dedicated service and commitment to Louisville Metro is hereby recognized with the placement of an honorary street sign on the corner of 28th Street, and Broadway in Louisville, Kentucky and so designated as "Dr. Michael Priester Way".
SECTION II: The Department of Public Works is hereby directed to move forward with the fabrication and installation of the honorary sign upon the passage ...
