TITLE

A RESOLUTION AMENDING SECTION 3.03 OF THE RULES OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT COUNCIL TO CHANGE THE ORDER OF BUSINESS AT ITS COUNCIL MEETINGS.

WHEREAS, the Metro Council amends its Rules to change the order of business at its Council meetings to hear special recognitions and proclamations before addresses to Council.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT (THE “COUNCIL”) AS FOLLOWS:   

 

Section I:                     The Council amends Section 3.03 of the Rules as follows:

3.03                      Order of Business

The order of business of the Council shall be:

a)                      Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance;

b)                       Roll Call;

c)                      Addresses to the Council; Special Recognitions and Proclamations;

d)                     Special Recognitions and Proclamations; Addresses to the Council;

e)                     Reading of the Council and committee minutes of the preceding meeting(s) or motion to approve or amend the minutes without reading;

f)                     Communications to the Council;

g)                     Special Legislation;

h)                     Consent Calendar;

i)                     Old Business;

j)                      New Business;

k)                      Announcements from any Council Member (unless otherwise provided for); and

l)                     Adjournment.

The rules of order, not prescribed by statute, may be suspended at any time by consent of the majority of the Council Members present at the meeting.  A motion to adjourn shall always be in order, unless the Council is engaged in voting and shall be decided without debate.

 

Section II: This Resolution shall be effective upon its passage and approval.
