AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 39 OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO CODE OF ORDINANCES BY CREATING A NEW SECTION REGARDING MANDATORY REPORTING OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TO METRO COUNCIL (AS AMENDED).

WHEREAS, economic development is critical to the well-being of Metro Louisville's residents and the future growth of Metro Louisville;
WHEREAS, the disposition of land and public assets has a direct impact on local communities and thus requires transparency within the government and before the public;
WHEREAS, it is important to consolidate economic development information in a standardized way;
WHEREAS, KRS ? 67C.105(1) provides that all executive and administrative power of the government shall be vested in the office of the mayor; and
WHEREAS, KRS ? 67C.103(13)(f) provides that among the legislative powers vested in the consolidated local government council, is the power to make independent audits and investigations concerning the affairs of the consolidated local government to include the affairs of the office of the mayor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT ("COUNCIL") AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: A new section of Louisville Metro Code of Ordinances ("LMCO") chapter 39 is hereby enacted to read as follows: ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT REPORTING
SECTION II: A new section of LMCO 39.XXX is hereby enacted to read as follows:
? 39.XX1 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT REPORT REQUIREMENTS.
(A) The Mayor or his/her designee shall:
(1) Submit quarterly reports within thirty (30) days of the end of each quarter
to the Government Oversight and Accountability CommitteeLabor and Economic Development Committee or a subsequent committee with similar oversight, as directed by the Council President. At a minimum, the report is to address the following:
