TITLE
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 078, SERIES 2019 THAT APPROVED APPROPRIATION OF $50,000 FROM DISTRICT 3 NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT FUNDS THROUGH THE OFFICE OF MANAGEMENT AND BUDGET, TO GIVE THE FUND FOR THE ARTS, INC. UNTIL JUNE 30, 2020 TO COMPLETE ITS FIVE-PART ARTS INTEGRATION INITIATIVE IN DISTRICT 3.

WHEREAS, on July 18, 2019 in Ordinance 078, Series 2019, Metro Council approved an appropriation of $50,000 from District 3 to the Fund for the Arts, Inc. for arts programming in District 3;
WHEREAS, the time period contemplated under Metro Council’s Policies and Procedures and approved on July 18, 2019 has not provided enough time for the Fund for the Arts, Inc. to complete the arts programming; and
WHEREAS, as a result, Metro Council extends the grant agreement period until June 30, 2020 to allow the Fund for the Arts, Inc. the additional time needed to expend the remaining NDF funds with arts programming in District 3.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT (THE COUNCIL) AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The sum of $50,000 is hereby appropriated from District 3 Neighborhood Development Funds through the Office of Management and Budget, to Fund for the Arts, Inc. to provide a five-part arts integration initiative in District 3. The programs will offer a variety of arts experiences to engage residents of all ages in District 3 with the goal of fostering a more connected, vibrant, and healthy community. The specific programs to be funded include Arts in Aging, In-School Arts, School’s Out equals Art’s In, and a ticket bank for art performances and exhibits for District 3 residents.
SECTION II: The Council has determined the funds requested in this Ordinance will be expended for a public purpose.
SECTION III: This grant is subject to the Council’s Policies and Procedures as adopted and effective at the date of passage of this Ordinance.
SECTION IV: This Ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
SECTION V: The grant agreement period is hereby extended until June 30, 2020 to allow the Fund for the Arts, Inc. the additional time needed to expend the remaining NDF funds with arts programming in District 3.
