A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT $11,417,313 OF AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN (ARP) ACT FUNDING THROUGH THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HUD) FOR THE HOME PROGRAM TO CONTINUE EFFORTS IN SUPPORTING COMMUNITY NEEDS AND RESPONDING TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.

WHEREAS, The American Rescue Plan (ARP) provides additional relief to address the continued impact of COVID-19 on the economy, public health, state and local governments, individuals, and businesses;
WHEREAS, The Louisville Metro Council requires that the use of funds allocated to Louisville Metro Government under the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (FRF), for water, sewer, and broadband infrastructure and HOME ARP requires approval, per Resolution 052, Series 2021;
WHEREAS, The Louisville Metro Council approves use of the HOME-ARP funds for eligible HOME-ARP projects, which could include Affordable Rental Housing, Tenant Based Rental Assistance, Supportive Services and or Non-Congregate Shelter for qualifying populations in accordance with CPD Notice 21-10, Requirements for the Use of Funds in the HOME-ARP Program issued on September 13, 2021;
WHEREAS, The determination for final use of the HOME-APR funds will be made after consultation with required not for profit and public agencies and entities that address the needs of qualifying populations and plan approval by HUD; and
WHEREAS, Metro Government wishes to enter into this agreement with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT AS FOLLOWS:
