WHEREAS, Pastor Rev. Dr. Robert L. Crittenden spread the gospel for 60 years; 54 years pastoring at Star Hope Baptist Church until his retirement for health reasons in July 2020;
WHEREAS, Pastor Rev. Dr. Robert L. Crittenden established numerous community outreach programs, such as annual back to school giveaways, Angel Trees and Thanksgiving giveaways, and youth college tours;
WHEREAS, Pastor Rev. Dr. Robert L. Crittenden initiated the first liturgical Spiritual Dance Teams for Newburg Area Youth;
WHEREAS, Pastor Rev. Dr. Robert L. Crittenden provided meeting space, accommodations for funerals and community activity parking;
WHEREAS, Pastor Rev. Dr. Robert L. Crittenden served as a volunteer for the Jefferson County Juvenile Court system; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Rev. Dr. Robert L Crittenden is a proud 85 year old Louisville resident who has resided in the Newburg community for 57 years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION I: Rev. Dr. Robert L. Crittenden's dedicated service and commitment to Louisville Metro is hereby recognized with the placement of an honorary street sign on the corner of East Indian Trail and Petersburg Road, Louisville, Kentucky and so designated as "Robert L. Crittenden Way."
SECTION II: The Department of Public Works is hereby directed to move forward with the fabrication and installation of the honorary street sign upon the passage of this Resolution and the receipt of funds to cover the expense.
SECTION III: This Resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval or otherwise becoming law.
