AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT FUNDING IN THE FORM OF DIRECT GRANTS OR REIMBURSEMENT FROM VARIOUS ECONOMIC RELIEF PACKAGES APPROVED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, EITHER DIRECTLY OR THROUGH THE COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY, RELATED TO THE NOVEL CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) PANDEMIC.

WHEREAS, Metro Government provides aid and relief to the citizens of Louisville Metro and is eligible for direct grants or reimbursement from the federal government or through the Commonwealth of Kentucky for expenditures related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic;
WHEREAS, Metro Government wishes to take advantage of this opportunity; and
WHEREAS, this Resolution requires emergency consideration as authorized by Council Rule 7.01 because it is essential that the government act expeditiously to accept funding to address the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT (THE COUNCIL) AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The Mayor is hereby authorized to accept funding in the form of direct grants or reimbursement from various economic relief packages approved by the federal government, either directly or through the Commonwealth of Kentucky, related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
SECTION II: This Resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
