A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT FUNDING IN THE FORM OF DIRECT GRANTS OR REIMBURSEMENT FROM VARIOUS ECONOMIC RELIEF PACKAGES APPROVED THROUGH THE AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN (ARP) ACT OF 2021, EITHER DIRECTLY OR THROUGH THE COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY, FOR EXPENDITURES TO ADDRESS THE CONTINUED IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON THE ECONOMY, PUBLIC HEALTH, STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS, INDIVIDUALS, AND BUSINESSES. WHEREAS, Metro Government provides aid and relief to the citizens of Louisville Metro and is eligible for direct grants or reimbursement through the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act of 2021, or through the Commonwealth of Kentucky, for expenditures to address the continued impact of COVID-19 on the economy, public health, state and local governments, individuals, and businesses; and
WHEREAS, Metro Government wishes to take advantage of this opportunity.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT ("LOUISVILLE METRO COUNCIL") AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The Mayor is hereby authorized to accept funding in the form of direct grants or reimbursement from various economic relief packages approved by the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act of 2021, either directly or through the Commonwealth of Kentucky, for expenditures to address the continued impact of COVID-19 on the economy, public health, state and local governments, individuals, and businesses.
SECTION II: Use of funds allocated to Louisville Metro Government under the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (FRF), for water, sewer, and broadband infrastructure and HOME ARP, shall require approval from the Louisville Metro Council.
