TITLE
A RESOLUTION PURSUANT TO THE CAPITAL AND OPERATING BUDGET ORDINANCES APPROVING THE APPROPRIATION TO FURTHER FUND THE FOLLOWING NONCOMPETITIVELY NEGOTIATED SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT FOR METRO SAFE FOR MAINTENANCE OF ITS NEWLY UPGRADED RADIO SYSTEM - MOTOROLA SOLUTIONS, INC. - ($623,681.00).

WHEREAS, in 2015, the Metro Council approved a sole source contract for Metro Safe with Motorola, Inc. for a radio system upgrade; and
WHEREAS, the amount of the contract as approved in 2015 was $7,800,000.00; and
WHEREAS, upon successful implementation of the upgrade, which has occurred, Motorola was to provide system maintenance at an additional cost of $623,681.00 per year for the remaining years of the Contract which is set to run through August 24, 2026 subject to annual appropriation of the Metro Council; and
WHEREAS, a further appropriation is required to fund this maintenance provision of the contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The following appropriation for the listed contract is hereby approved:
METRO SAFE
$623,681.00 to fund the annual maintenance provision of the noncompetitively negotiated Sole Source Contract with Motorola Solutions, Inc. for professional services regarding a radio system upgrade from August 25, 2021 through August 24, 2022 with the total contract term expected to run until August 25, 2025 subject to appropriation of funds therefore by the Metro Council.
SECTION II: This Resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
