A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT $59,357.92 OF FUNDING FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE THROUGH THE SUMMER FEEDING SERVICE GRANT PROGRAM TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND WELLNESS.

WHEREAS, the Summer Feeding Service grant program provides nutritious meals to youth age 18 and under at no charge during the summer months when school is not in session; and
WHEREAS, these funds will be used to perform inspections to the Summer Feeding Service program’s physical site locations; and
WHEREAS, the Metro Government wishes to take advantage of this opportunity through the Department of Public Health and Wellness.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The Mayor is hereby authorized to accept $59,357.92 of funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Summer Feeding Service grant program to be administered by the Department of Public Health and Wellness.
SECTION II: This Resolution shall take effect upon its passage and approval or otherwise becoming law.
